1988 Italian 500 Lire Bi-Metallic coin that exhibits a significant mint error. Specifically, this is a combination of two errors common to bi-metallic coins:
Off-Center Strike: The strike applied to the whole planchet is moderately off-center, causing some of the outer silver ring's legend to be cut off.
Bi-Metallic Assembly Error (Core Shift): This is the most dramatic feature. The inner golden core is severely misaligned within the outer silver ring. This type of error, where the center and outer ring are dramatically shifted relative to each other, is highly sought after by error collectors.
