Ranch Coat
A waist-length coat worn by cowboys on large ranches in the American West for protection against the cold. Originally made by turning sheepskin inside out, with the fur on the inside, resulting in a suede coat. In recent years, cotton suede versions with boa lining have also emerged. It features a large collar, and the outer fabric is often corduroy, suede, mouton, or denim. The term "ranch coat" is a Japanese-English term. In English, it is called a "shearing coat," derived from "shearing," which means "wool harvesting."
