This lot includes 7 antique Chinese silver hat ornaments (appliqué pieces) featuring various deities, immortals, and animal motifs. Each piece has multiple small sewing holes in the base, showing it was originally affixed to cloth or a hat. These ornaments are mid to late Qing / early Republic period style (approx. late 19th to early 20th century) though exact dating is not guaranteed.
In traditional Chinese hat making (especially children’s “tiger head caps” and ceremonial hats), small silver ornaments were sewn on as protective symbols. Motifs such as immortals, deer, mythical beasts or auspicious symbols conveyed blessings, long life, good fortune and warding off evil.
